Supply list (virtual class)
  • Rotary cutter
  • Cutting mat
  • Rotary ruler 6” x 6” (or similar size) rotary ruler for squaring up triangle units
  • (I like the Omnigrid square ruler that has a 45 degree line down the middle of the ruler, as shown here.)

  • 1/4" foot or machine set up for 1/4" seam allowance
  • Basic sewing supplies you normally use: seam ripper, pins, extra bobbins, extra machine needles
  • Design wall (if you have one handy)
  • Small bottle of Best Press or spray sizing

You can purchase a Value Viewer from Karen's store here.  She will be demonstrating it in class.

Karen's book COMBING THROUGH YOUR SCRAPS is out of print.  However, you can purchase it as an ebook here.

Fabric: fat quarters of light and dark fabrics. Include lots of lights, lots of darks, some yellow, red and some "Uglies" in your selections. This is a great place to use up bits of fabrics.

The more variety you have the better.  Not sure how many, start with 9-12 different light and 9-12 different dark fabrics.

Pre-cut 3 1/2" squares and 4" squares from both light and dark fabrics.

(If you have boxes and boxes of 2" watercolor squares, bring them. Karen will show you how to use them instead of the larger squares.)

Karen will send a link via email once class has started with handouts to download.
