FABRIC: Choose two color families that work well together such as blue and green. Bring 2-6 lights, 2-6 medium and 2-6 darks in each family. Make sure your fabrics are not busy prints. A fat quarter of each fabric is enough. You may bring more fabric if you wish. (Fabric will be available in class)
You can also use Karen Combs' gradated fabric, available on her webpage. Click here for Karen's online catalog. If you use Karen's fabrics, select 2 colors you enjoy working with. Make sure there is a contrast between the two colors.
What is a busy print? Any high contrast print such as white over a dark color, a small calico print or a "loud" print. The fabric "Fossil Fern" is a good example of a non-busy print. CLICK HERE TO SEE FABRIC SUGGESTIONS
