1.  Square:  Add ½” to the height and length of the finished size.

2.  Half-square Triangle:  Add 7/8” to the height and length of the finished size of the square made from sewing two half-square triangles together.  Cut square in half, diagonally to create two half-square triangles.

  1. Quarter-square Triangle:  Add 1 ¼” to the finished size of the longest side of the quarter-square triangle.

  1. To figure the finished diagonal measurement of a block, multiply the finished size by 1.41.

 

5.  Multiply the finished length of a diamond patch by 3.41 to find the finished block size for an 8 pointed star.
