rotary cutter
rotary mat,
pins
sharp pencil
sewing machine in good working order
neutral colored thread
seam ripper
1¼ yard flannel or cotton batting for design wall
masking tape or blue painter’s tape
Optional Supplies:

Spray sizing (Magic Sizing or Niagara Sizing), spray starch can be substituted, if Sizing is not available
FABRIC:
Light Blue (background) 1 2/3 yard (includes binding)
Medium-Dark Blue (ring color): ¾ yard
Fabric suggestions: Tone on tone such as Moda Marbles or light pattern batiks work best. (Do not use two highly textured fabrics. They will “fight” each other and the rings will not show.)
You can choose other colors, if you wish. Be sure to have a lighter background and a darker color for the rings. Some good combinations: Light Blue background/Dark green ring; Light Green background/Dark blue ring; Light Blue Background/Yellow Ring
Preparation for class: light mist fabrics with Spray Sizing and iron before cutting.
Precutting:
